ABOUT SAND RIVER RECOVERY & WELLNESS CENTRE

Sand River Recovery and Wellness Centre is a Christian Recovery Centre that believes Identity, Faith, Vision and Discipline are the cornerstones of successful rehabilitation.

We only take in a limited number of men, ensuring a personal and intimate approach. Here, you are not a number - you are a son of God on a journey back to the man He created you to be.

We are located on a serene farm 30km outside Welkom in the Freestate offering a tranquil environment that fosters healing and growth. We have a dedicated team committed to transforming lives and restoring hope. Our mission is to support individuals in their journey to overcome addiction, rebuild relationships, and achieve a purpose-driven life.

We recommend a minimum of 3 months (90 days) but also have 6 month and 9 month residential treatment options depending on the length of addiction and the underlying issues. Our intensive and individually tailored residential treatment programs aim to empower our residents with the tools they need to break free from destructive habits and embrace a healthier future. Our holistic approach integrates faith, community, and personal development, ensuring that each individual receives the care and attention they deserve.

While we firmly believe that God can give us a new heart, it is our responsibility to renew our minds and we help people in practical ways regain control of their thinking, emotions and behaviour. Our program includes a daily routine of work and chores to instill values of accountability, discipline, mastering new skills and living a life of creativity, productivity and excellence. Daily devotionals, biblestudy and church and lifegroup attendance fosters a lifestyle rooted in faith, fellowship and a love of the Truth that can only be found in God's Word and what we use to dismantle the lies of the enemy and the strongholds in our lives. Individual and group counselling sessions provide opportunities to discover thinking errors, identify en regulate emotions in a healthy way, gain practical skills and tools to handle triggers, conflict and anxiety without falling back into old coping mechanisms that led to the addiction. Acudetox Acupunture and Art Therapy sessions are used in conjunction with other relaxing techniques to allow for the release of toxins, trauma and stress to help regain clarity and soundness of mind.

We are a registered NPO and are dedicated to help people at affordable prices and are affiliated to various ministries and organizations to help find sponsors in cases where people are desperate for help but unable to afford treatment.
